In March 2010, Honours Golf Company was selected by the City of Oxford, AL, to manage the golf course and clubhouse operations for Cider Ridge Golf Club.  Located midway between Birmingham and Atlanta and minutes from the renowned Talladega Race Track, the municipal course features a par 72, 18-hole regulation course set within a 450-home golf community.

Cider Ridge is rich in history and provides a glimpse into Alabama’s rural past.   The club was built on the grounds of an old apple orchard and takes its name from the history of the property.  More than 100 years ago, the Melon Apple Orchard grew up to 11,000 bushels of apples annually on the property, and at its peak, produced 20,000 gallons of apple cider.  A century old rock reservoir and remnants of an old grist, saw and gin mill are still visible on the property.

Situated at the base of the state’s tallest mountain – Mt. Cheaha, Cider Ridge offers a classic mountain-style layout designed by Alabama-based Bill Bergin of Bergin Design.  The course features tree-lined fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and sloping greens.  Bergin was able to incorporate a wide range of the central Alabama terrain characteristics, including numerous peaks and valleys, streams and lakes, mountain vistas, dense hardwood forests and 100-year-old majestic oaks.
